Come, Let Us Reason Together

My book, Come Let Us Reason Together, is a release from 5Fold Media.  The name was taken from Isaiah 1:18 in which God asks His people to sit down and reason with Him about eternal consequences.  The following statement will hopefully give you a better idea of the content of the book.  I have also included the front cover.

“Come now and let us reason together”, says the Lord.  “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)

God has given man a complex and magnificent brain.  He expects us to use our thinking and reasoning skills when we read and study Scripture.  In fact, if we are believers, we are told in 1 Corinthians 2:16 that we have also been given the mind of Christ.  I fear that many of those who claim to be followers of Jesus don’t study to show themselves approved to God as the Apostle Paul told his young student, Timothy.

In our passage from Isaiah, God lovingly reaches out to his people and invites them to sit down with Him and have a good reasoning session.  God asks them a riddle, so to speak, that He wants them to think about.  How is it that something as red as scarlet and crimson suddenly becomes white as snow and lambs wool?  And what does all that have to do with sin?  The answer is as relevant today as it was in the days of Isaiah the prophet.

I believe it’s time for Christians to read, study, and think through the Bible.  We need to pull ourselves away from the distractions and trinkets of life that charms us and rediscover the wonderment of God’s Word.  After all, the Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign of the universe wrote it.

My writings cover many portions of Scripture on many different subjects.  They are designed to interest you in delving deeper into the Word for yourself and discovering its limitless and timeless beauty.  You can and should find your own application in these short narratives.  Your God is lovingly calling you to sit down with Him and reason together.

  1. I just completed your devotional book. I have been using it in my daily quiet time and it was amazing how God used it to work in my life. You have such a gift for writing and drawing people into God’s word. Several times I would put your book down and go get my Bible to read more which I know was one of your intentions. I loved seeing stories of your boys in there, especially when I knew it was Joe with his mischievous smile! You have a wonderful gift for story-telling and bringing a story to life and I am so glad you pursued what God laid on your heart to do. It is truly a gift and I hope you will continue writing because I would love to read more!
